daisyrunner January of this year! He is 14 wks now. I am 37, married with two kids. My parents had 3 total before I was born, always spoke highly of them and I always wanted one. Perfect time was definitely now.

DaniFani 25 when I had my own. Grew up with one (first family dog), then family moved to field labradors. I wanted another shepherd from 18 to 25, had to wait until we were in the right place to get one. It was a long wait, but I'm glad we waited. :-)

onyx'girl My first GSD pup Stomper came to live with me when I was 21. My boyfriend(now husband) had a GSD growing up and we both loved the breed. We got him out of a newspaper ad, he was born on a dairy farm...only black pup in the litter(I assume he wasn't purebred, but he acted all GSD, and his structure was that of a GSD) He was a great dog, loved to herd.

My step dad had two and I fell in love with them. They lived at his service station mostly as watch dogs, came home now and then, but were working dogs, not so much companions.
We named ours Stomper after my stepdads boy who had recently passed away. My Stomper lived to be 11, passed away from bloat.

I went another 10 yrs before we got another GSD, Onyx.

Castlemaid I've got mine when I was 45. I saved up my money to buy from a good breeder, and had acquired handling and training and titling experience with my previous dog.

gsdlover91 I got my first GSD when I was 21. I can honestly say having a GSD, while in college and working has been hard at times. I know I should have waited until I was done with college, but I wouldn't trade my dog for the world.

Espa My foster family had a GSD so I guess I grew up with them. At age 16 I was on my own and had my own GSD, 9 dogs later I've never looked back.
