Many vets will not say anything about the pet's body condition for fear of offending the owner. Many people react like it is an attack on themselves, they've got too much ego and self-esteem tied into their dog's appearance.
I prefer to see a defined tuck up from the side and waist when viewed from overhead. Seeing the last rib in movement and being able to easily feel ribs under a thin fat layer as well are good.

|LUV4MAJOR||Sounds ok to me. Our vet has not said anything about Major being overweight either.. His mother & father were both very large.. Major is currently 102lbs at 15.5 months. You can still see his ribs and he looks lean but weighed in at 102lbs last weekend at the vet.|

12 month old female is 4 lbs overweight?
We took our GSD to a specialist vet the other day for her bilious vomiting problem. She noted that our gal was about 4 lbs overweight yet our old vet never said anything??? Isis is 25" and 79lbs. Her mother was average sized but her father was huge (height and weight).
Just curious what you guys thought??
Thanks in advance.
