selzer Why?

You have to ask yourself, why an employee would act that way. Lots of people want to push you to buy their product or what have you. But to argue with you, and then to actually swear at you and say you are abusing your dog, the woman needs the fifth floor.

If you haven't reported it, don't worry, crazy won't last long there, unless she owns the place, and then she will go out of business. I mean, really, are you ever going back to that place?

There are things we have to pay for, like lights and heat and the house payment, and food; and there are things that we want to spend money on, pets, hobbies, recreation. This money is often very limited. But we ENJOY spending it, because these are wants, and thinks we love. Spending money on them should be and usually is a pleasant experience, filled with positive happy feelings. Places that depend on people who WANT to spend money on stuff, should have the best jobs, and be the most friendly and personable, because they have it a lot easier than people working at places where people are being pried away from their money unwillingly.

Crazy.

on the blue buffalo....

Yeah, Blue is spending a LOT more on marketing then the actual quality of the food. The Tractor Supply 4 Health is just as good and in some cases better then blue, since it's a private brand = no marketing driven upticks in cost.

Blue changed up some of their formulas a few years ago and it was not for the better.

BTW - I was told by the manager at my Tractor supply they are going to be moving the manufacturing of 4 Health in house as well, so they can have more control over cost and quality.
Do you have any links to articles I could read? I would love to read them.

CleoPatrick Out of all 5 of my dogs they never really had puppy food. one that is still living is a 14 year old lab. It works for me, so I'll stick with it. I can understand other peoples views, this lady was out of line. The main reason cleo is on adult food is because she is high normal on protein and calcium. The puppy food has to much . My vet said in cleo's case adult food suits her more.

She's not totally wrong though about the food, ideally, you should probably have it on a LB puppy food, but at the end of the day, it's your dog and you get to choose what to feed it.

SunCzarina an employee like that is bad for business. You don't mention if this was a big box store or a local small business. I know the owners of the place I buy my food would want to know about this employees attitude.

If that happened to me, Diane (owner of the nation pet chain store I go to) would have fired the employee on the spot for annoying a loyal customer of 14 years.

HOBY Report, yes. As an employer I would want to know. This employee actually owes you an apology. Rude is one thing crude is another and this employee did both. People can be rude and insensitive. They make bumbling judgements off the cuff, try to force their opinions thinking they know it all and finally use poor language when they had nothing worth while to say to begin with.

Blanketback If you were buying cat food, I could see her point. She does need to know she was wrong for doing that, under the circumstances.

petite That woman was completely out of line. I would have said something to her manager!

jocoyn I actually had an experience with a Blue Buffalo sales rep who was telling me how great their food is. By and large I like the formulations but refuse to buy a food when they won't tell me where it is made as the manufacturing company has a lot to do with the product quality. He did not have an answer for me. Remember the D3 recall.
