|Kuma of Manenggon||I feel your pain..we had a dog we adopted off the side if the road, shepherd, collie mix .. She used to jump in the back seat and go to work with me everyday..then she got too old to jump into the car...to big to pick up....she still had a very nice comfortable life before she passed. Use assistance for her to get in and out of the truck if you can.|

|Daisy&Lucky's Mom||I have two 11 year olds and a 12 year old GSD. We have ramps for them to get in the car and we use a supplement for them . I thinl its like Elimaybel said as long as your w/ her be it a slow walk a cuddle or throwing a stick with long brakes between throws she will be happy. The vet idea might help manage her discomfort. Sandy sounds like a beautiful girl.|

|Ellimaybel||I am not any type of expert with GSD's but I can say one thing and one thing only about those last days. Growing up we had a female GSD that survived 3 strokes and spent every single day up until her last out in the yard playing with us kids at her ripe age of 18 years old. My mom never discouraged us from playing with her because Cheyenne lived such a full and happy life doing what she loved up until the end. Of course I'm not saying anything was ever done knowing it would cause her pain and/or discomfort so please don't read this that way. All I'm saying in my humble opinion is that you could just find something that your dog loves doing and just do that. Your dog will love their life as long as it involves you.|

Hi Everyone I'm new.....have some concerns I need advice..
Hello My name is Nicole, I have a pure bred German Shephard her name is Sandy. I picked her from a litter almost 11yrs ago for my family right after my daughters second birthday. well my daughter just turn the big 13!! and Ive notice big changes in Sandy....Im getting worried shes alot slower to get up on certain days(damp or cold) she certainly still wants me to throw stick or ball but i try to minimize it because i can see she really hurts the days after. She is having difficulties jumping in the truck...and is very stiff getting out of bed. I love her so much, if there is anything i can do please help me to help her.
