Thank you! He is such a good boy and is doing so well. I feel like he changes a little daily. I can't wait to see what he will eventually look like. Your dogs are beautiful!

Mandy Mooney Here are a few more pictures that I was able to take today. These show his coloring a little bit better.

I'd say your pup is a black and tan and will most likely end up tan with some black. Who is the breeder? Did you see the mother, any information on the pedigree?
No, we didn't just decide yesterday. This has been a long process and decision. We have looked at many breeders and many dogs and actually visited a few of them and decided with this one.
Yes, we did see both the mother and father. Like I said his mom was sable and dad was black and tan.

SunCzarina I had a gold sable that looked very much like a black and tan when she was a pup. Time will tell.

My first German Shepherd Owen was black and tan. My husband and I have been looking at different colors and breeders for awhile. Of course I was/am not specific on color but more on personality. I was wondering though what your opinions are on Luca's color? His mom was sable and his dad black and tan. I have seen many pictures of how their coloring changes as they get older and am just curious as to what you would classify him as and how much you think he will change color wise?
Thank you!
Do you have any other pictures? Maybe with a little better lighting and of him from the side standing up as well. With that pic it looks like's there's a color filter on, which makes him appear liver colored, and I'm assuming he's really black and tannish.

Although I will add, if he is liver
