|mrs.campbell||I don't have a dog to keep out of litter, I have a toddler who thinks it's a sand box. My hubby cut a cat door in the wall and framed it to make it look nice so the cats can get in and out of where we keep the litter in the room with our furnace and hot water tank etc. Hope this helps. Sorry about poop breath. That is really nasty!|

|huntergreen||op, remember how the "rabbit" was always scheming trying to get the Trix cereal, and the critter was koo koo for coco puffs? same thing with dogs and cat poo. try the gate, but some dogs will go go over or knock down sad gate.|

|LoveDogs||I have the same gate (white one) but haven't had to use it for this puppy yet. I put the cat's litter box high up so he can't reach it. I found the cat litter I use (Mimi litter) the puppy doesn't like to smell so hopefully that will be deterrent enough.|

i got a baby gate for 10 bucks from walmart and blocked the bathroom and put the cat box in there. also gives the cat somewhere to go if the dogs are annoying her. she likes to chill on the bathroom counter

|trcy||We have the gate above set up to block the "cat room".|

|SARpup||My dog does the same thing HOWEVER not from the litter box! My cats are indoor/outdoor cats and they have used the yard and the puppy goes around and finds them! ANY time he is let out! I usually go with him outside and monitor him but I can't ALWAYS and he goes and gets them! I am getting so sick of it! I can't stop the cats from pooing outside! Luckily he hasn't discovered the litter box yet! (hoping I didn't just jinx myself!) I can not stand the smell of him when he comes back in from a poo eating buffet! I thought he would have found them all by now but there seems to be a never ending supply!|

I found it easier just to have a baby gate with a smaller pet door I could leave open for the cats and the dog couldn't follow. Then I'd just open/close the big gate when needed.

My dogs a poo eater (help)
Our four month old puppy eats poo. Not hers, but from my two cats. She even sees them go to the litter box and waits outside the door to the room so she can get a fresh one.
Of course she also loves kissing on us with cat poo breath!
How do we stop this?
The best we thought of is putting the litter box on a table or shelf where the dog can't reach it, but then if family or friends come over we'd have a litter box where it was highly visible.
