At that age, Venus wasn't always sure she wanted breakfast. Sometimes she wanted it for lunch. Otto ate it a few times when I didn't pick it up so she learned to eat breakfast or it's gone. No midday nibbles.
I've had 8 of them and 3 of them treated meal time as just something they had to do once a day. Wouldn't eat breakfast.

I was thinking from my perspective that I'd hate to have one full meal a day so I was feeling bad for her, but if it's normal then I'm happy lol we also left her food down all the time so she could eat as she pleases, though after midday her breakfast begins to smell a bit lol she is quite a fussy eater, and we'd like her to put on a few kilos at least.|

|mego||Mine went from three meals, started skipping her breakfast so it was two. Then started skipping that. She likes dinner at 8 then maybe more food two hours later. Sometimes she snacks in the morning. I kinda like it since I dont have to watch her exercise after she eats for bloat. That late she usually doesn't play too rough|

|Msmaria||My dog has always been like this even as a puppy and still is. In daycamp they would ask wheres his lunch? and didnt believe me he only nibbles morning and will eat dinner. Now they know as they have tried to give him lunch and he will ignore it. Unless its doggie ice cream|

|sourdough44||Someone 'in the know' told me 'German Shepherds like to eat at night'. I can't say for sure but do mention it at times when our 16 week old eats after dark. We leave food available at all times, so she can help herself. No she is not overweight.|

5mo only has appetite at night
Hi all, originally we were dividing our pups food into three meals a day but recently, on our vet's direction, started dividing it into two meals - morning and night. However, she only nibbles in the morning, but clears the bowl at night. I was thinking maybe to just give her a snack for breakfast and majority of her food at night, would this be okay? saves us wasting so much of her food
