Hydrocephalus

I had a puppy with hydro. It largely depends on what caused it. Does the puppy have any symptoms? If you look up the recent thread about it that was mentioned, I posted information about it. And I'm sure if you search for it on here, my old thread about my hydro puppy will come up. Best wishes to you.

And no, congenital hydro is not common in this breed. Usually due to an issue during whelping.

RebelGSD Check out, there is a recent thread about hydrocephalus in this section. I believe the prognosis depends on the severity of the disease.

Hydrocephalus

My 4 year old female had a litter of 7 pups. 2 died of complications within first 24 hrs. The remaining 5 are now 6 weeks old. Today at vet office for check up, I was told the runt my have hydrocephalus. How common is this in german shepherds? Is anyone familiar with this? If so what is the possibility of my pup being functional if treated?
