Security Question
While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, john and his friend sally both spotted a dalmatian inside a truck with sirens, headed to put out a fire. State what the 2x4 is made of.

Didn't work for my male either, he'd struggle away and come back more ramped up. I had to poke that dog in the tongue with an acrylic finger nail to get him to stop biting. My hand was in there anyway! Shove something else in his mouth, he'd take off with it for a minute and come back for more.

No bites worked for my female. They're all different.

warpwr Does your boy hurt you when he bites? Those baby teeth are sharp.
We like to let ours bite us but only gently rather than demanding no biting at all.
We get this by doing the same high pitched YOWs and OWs that another puppy might do.

We're lucky with this newest little sweetie because we got her at 16 weeks and she had already learned bite inhibition from her siblings. I think when you get a pup at 8 weeks they haven't really learned that yet and so you have to be the 'other puppy'.

I suggest when s/he wants to play use a toy have him/her bite onto the toy and play through that. If s/he continues to bite you walk away -game over. S/he will learn quickly the only way to play with you is through a toy not nipping. Good luck!

sourdough44 I agree with what's been posted around here previously, they grow out of much of it. Our pup just turned 16 weeks & she seldom tries to bite anymore. I'm leaving out some of the harmless playful mouthing.

The dog needs to know what a firm NO means, how you get there seems debatable. I let our dog know it wouldn't be tolerated, she accepted and all is well.

6 month old biting

I have a 6 month old gsd that is biting and was wondering the best way to correct this? He is such a sweet boy and is only doing it while loving and playing. I just need some advice on corrective actions.
