Mary Beth I agree that could be the reason. An Alaskan Malamute Labrador mix - what an interesting mix. Onyx is a handsome fellow with his black cost and soon to be white markings.

I know why the ears aren't up...two reasons, actually. I noticed that the cartilage seems bent, it might be, maybe looks like it though. The other reason is I know what Onyx's true breed is. From lots of research, estimations exc, I have concluded that Onyx just might not be GSD at all, but, an Alaskan Malamute Labrador mix. Now that he's getting older, almost a year old, he does look like an Alaskan malamute, just black and has floppy ears. He is developing white on his tail, chest and paws. It's hard to see but it's there.
