Shaolin Yeah. I was very thankful for being delayed. I told my mother that I was just happy we were all okay. She had actually gone to the house to help move in and saw the flames coming from the house while they were trying to put it out.

What's funny...we actually didn't really like the house, but it was the first one to allow Finn, so we went for it. We should be able to find something soon, but since PA doesn't have breed restrictions, landlords and apartments put weight/breed restrictions on everything. Since they can't outlaw one breed, they ban anything over 50# or anything on the yearly bite list.

I'm just happy we're okay.

Thanks God!

I try to look at those irritating delays as speed bumps God puts in the way to keep me safe. Sometimes I see more irritation than grace.

Lilie There is always a silver lining. Sometimes, you don't have to look hard to find it. Thank goodness you and your critters are safe.

Courtney Absolute chills down my neck reading this. Thank goodness you were taken off track that day. I also hope you find another rental soon!

middleofnowhere Good timing! Whenever I'm held up in traffic and discover that it is a wreck that caused the delays, I am just grateful that I hadn't been a little bit earlier.

Hope you find another rental soon.

I am so lucky...

I moved on Saturday. We got on the road about two hours late. No big deal. Well...about twenty minutes out from the house, I get a frantic call from my mom asking if I'm okay. I told her I was fine.

The house I rented caught on fire and burned to the ground. No idea how it started, but it happened when we were supposed to be unpacking or just about done. We're staying in a pet friendly hotel and we got a steep discount on our stay.

I can't imagine what the outcome would have been if we would have been there. All the animals were in various states of sedation and from what the fire department said, the house went very quickly, so there's little doubt I would have lost one or more.

I'm so grateful for a late start.
