Yeah, sounds like it's agreed, he'll grow into that big head and fill out. The GF should be getting more pics and is planning on going to see him in person tomorrow.

The last rib should be visible, or at least an indication of that rib under the skin. As teens(figure age 2.5 to 3 is still growing) the shape is less important than making sure all the needed nutrients are supplied. When the fill out begins is when ya should begin to pay attention to the shape.|

|Soundguy||I agree with everybody else. If he seems like a good fit with the two of you, go for it. You'll be amazed at how much he could blossom! Good luck!|

|SunCzarina||I love his face, he's going to be a handsome dog. Yes, lacking muscle mass. He obviously didn't get much exercise and sadly that's probably why he was given up - they didn't have time to meet his physical needs. Get him and enjoy him and good luck!|

|BriskaBoo13||A picture of him standing from the side and top would really help. But the one of him sitting to me looks like what BowWowMeow says, needs more muscle mass. They do fill out and yes a bit thin is better than a bit heavy. The way I learned to tell if the dog is to thin is to take your hand, make it flat and rub your finger across your knuckles, then run your fingers across the dogs rib cage, they should feel the same for ideal body condition. If you make a fist and run your finger over your knuckles and the dogs ribcage, if that feels the same, dog's to thin, flip your hand over, palm up, and run your finger over the back of your knuckles, over the dog's ribcage, if they feel the same the dog is to heavy. Gosh, I hope that made sense. It is hard to describe that method in writting lol.|

|BowWowMeow||It's hard to say from that picture but it looks like he could use more muscle mass.|

|ramu3527||Yeah, she says the same thing. Tells me to think of him as a teenager. In another year he'll be lookin' just fine.|

|LoveDogs||Rather be thin than heavy. He's young yet and will fill out.|

My GF and I are looking at this rescue GSD. It's a 1.5 year old male. I am looking at the picture and thinking he seems too thin. This is all new to me and the GF says he's just young yet.
Will he fill out?
