WirelessG BTW, there is one thing that will make him stop in his tracks and that's his lung whip. He can't get enough of that thing, but it tears up the grass so much and with the grass already in rough shape, I have to use it sparingly.

WirelessG Thanks, guys. Yes, he's running with another dog. And I can correct him, but only when I am there. When I let him out in the morning, I'm busy showering and getting ready for work, so there is nothing I can do about it. I bought an Innotek citronella collar and I'm going to try that. If that doesn't work, then I will try a fabric screen covered with bamboo.

SunCzarina He's young, it's not too late to teach him NOT to do that. Much simpler than it might seem. He runs the fence, tell him NO and if he doesn't stop, he has to go in the house for time out. Repeat often until he knows what 'knock it off or you'll go in the house' means.

All my dogs in the spring would start fence running because woohoo there's more people and dogs out and it's just so much fun. It's like they forget over the winter. Even my last female, at 10, she still had to be reminded, run at the fence, it's game over you go in the house.

If your dog's fence running with another dog, that's a whole other PITA...

Twyla Neighbors across the street put the bamboo screen up to block their pits. It is shredded. Couple of years ago, we harvested and put up the actual bamboo. It is still up, but with drying and age, it shrunk. We are now in the process of putting up a privacy fence.

Screen for Fence Running

My GSD is one year old and he started fence running before I realized how bad fence running is. I bought a fabric screen to put up on the fence, but then it occurred to me that he would tear it up in an hour. I thought about putting plywood up, but that would be ugly and pricey. I see bamboo screen for sale. Does anyone have any experience with fence screens and dogs?
