Harry and Lola Both Lola and Harry were given Omega Magic Plus 1. Omega Magic Plus - 250ml - Supplements - Omega Magic Plus - Natural Dry Pet Food, Supplements and Treats for dogs and cats - Home Delivered in Perth - Pet Fare when they were puppies until about 1yo. Whilst not a fish oil, does contain fish oil and is high in omega 3 and 6.

Harry has EPI

Lola has HD & thyroid issues

Definitely agree with 'high protein' diets being a cause for many issues including excessive growth.

Mary Beth I sure hope not! For the fish oil, I give Nordic Pet Omega 3 soft gels.

Liver, pancreas, and gallbladder?

Are the GSD's having a lot of liver failure (excluding shunts), pancreatitis, and/or gallbladder problems?

Are lot of people using fish oil?

The sheltie people are having a huge rash of these organ failures at about age 6-8 and I am trying to figure out if it is just shelties or happening in other dogs such as GSD? Due to fish oil (perhaps contaminants and/or imbalances with E, K, A, and D)? Perhaps all the "high protein" foods today? Perhaps overvaccination screwing up immunity.

I haven't posted in a long time here but I think if anyone might know an answer or have some theories, it would be the GSD board.

Thanks in advance from my Shay's little furry sheltie sister Melody.
