selzer The mailbox is still standing, and it is a humdinger of a storm out there. My parents' rocking chairs on the porch are sliding around out there. The shop door blew open and the wind stole my open sign. I took the hint.

My neighbor's mailbox is down today. Not that I am grateful for that, but just sayin' it's really blowing out there.

Betty I am grateful that I still have both parents with me. Most of my friends my age can not say the same.

I am grateful for those few special friends in my life, that have my back, support me, but can give me a swift kick in the butt when needed.

mego I'm glad some people found it an interesting idea it's really helped me even though it's so simple.

Today I took Lara to the vet and her anal gland infection is still not better after 10 days of antibiotics - almost pure blood came out when he expressed it again however I am happy that we have the financial means to do whatever it takes to get her healthy again, I am still worried about her though. Our vet is really great, he loves Lara, and when we got there this morning all the groomers and techs came out to see her and talked about how sweet she is. I'm happy that she loves people and each vet visit is fun for her, even though she gets some owwie procedures sometimes she always gives kisses afterwards.

We had a really sunny day today too, 72 degrees. I spent another few hours outside with the girl and enjoyed the day off. You don't realize how awesome a dry, sunny day is after that extremely long winter.

I'm an ER RN. Every shift I am grateful that I have a home, a profession, 2kids who are employed well, my physical health, my mental health. My husband and son are both combat vets (Vietnam and Iraq). I am SO grateful they're home. I'm grateful that my shift ends and I get to come home to a pup who is thrilled to see me. Some good ear scratching erases the shift's junk from my mind. I'm grateful especially to sit on the back porch and watch the critters in the warm days of summer really grateful that I am no longer feel the urge to be on the move every second! Grateful for the sun and earth. So grateful for my dog Rudy the Rescue,,,,(who rescued who?)

It's 43 degrees, up to 57 today. It was almost like summer. There were bugs out there. And birds. I am not particularly fond of either, but after this winter, both are pretty nice to see and hear.

Lilie I am grateful for every morning I wake up. I am grateful for the blessings I receive every day. I am grateful for recognizing that the storms in life make you appreciate the sunny days even so much more.

katro This is a really good idea! Often we find ourselves (or maybe it's just me) getting sucked into the stresses of daily life and focus more on the crap than the positive things.

I am grateful for being resilient. A lot of things in my life have drastically changed over the past year/year-and-a-half, and I made it through the fire!

I'm also grateful for my family (even though they are far away), my friends (who are my surrogate family), my cats and dog (who helped me more than they know during some tough times) and my husband who puts up with me.

Shade I really love my family, we're very close and I'm grateful for their constant support.

My work family is very tight knit as well, this is my 8th year and our core group has stayed the same this entire time and has only gotten stronger. I love my job, customer service can be such a hard stressful job but the rewards of a happy customer is well worth it.

I love my animals with all my heart, they bring me joy and laughter every day. Even if I've had a horrid day once that door is open and I see their excited faces and wagging tails I can't help but smile. To them I'm the best thing in the entire world without fail and they hold no judgement when I make a mistake.

NancyJ Mego, thanks for the thread. Nice suggestion. I have much to be grateful for and it is a wonderful way to start the day with a few minutes of reflection on that.
