cliffson1 Looking towards Nov. As we have a couple dogs that will be 18 months by then and are capable of P-1. Yes, that makes sense and I am aware of those changes.

mycobraracr I like them too. Cliff any idea what month in fall?

Also take a look at the Titles and Rules page on the website. I know some changes have been made. There are now 3 PD titles and I believe the suit/sleeve/PD titles have been separated into divisions. So for example, a person can not go from a P1 sleeve to a P2 suit. If they have only done a P1 Sleeve then they can either go to a P2 Sleeve or lateral to a P1 Suit then up to whatever P2 they want. I hope this makes sense.

There used to be trials in MI once or twice a year. I started titling two of my dogs (one only did obedience, the other did all three phases) but then stopped b/c no one's had a trial since the last one we did. Also when it was affiliated with the UKC there was a big trial during the Premier every summer. I would love for it to become more popular as well but it's a struggle just to find a decent SchH helper within 2.5 hours let alone push a new sport. I used to have a helper-friend nearby that got certified but we didn't actually own a bitesuit so that makes training a bit tough. I trained with another person who did have a suit and also knew the exercises but some shady stuff happened with a dog I knew so I've steered clear. I'm glad this possible trial is getting good publicity here...hope everyone can make it!

You don't need a scorebook but if you've got one, you can use it.

Jane is correct. Anyone can hold a trial. SDA requires a certified judge and decoy(s) to work the trial. The host club also pays SDA $10 (not 100% on that price) per dog entered. They mail the results and payment to SDA then SDA puts the results up on the website. That's how they got away from club dues.

There are some groups in Tennessee, NJ and Cali. I think some people were talking about a trial in Michigan cough, cough Jane I truly love this sport and would love to see it take off.
