A short Babs tale
So yesterday was not the best day of my life. Not the worst, for sure. But having your nose wake you up at 4 AM because two of the mangies had a loose stool, and at 4:10AM, I was outside in 20 degree weather scrubbing crate pans with hot water, with many of less that sweet comments and grunts.
Of course the moment the bed springs inform them that I am getting up, a switch in their bladders flips, and before I could get those pans cleaned, two others decided they waited long enough, but at least it was only urine.
So not a great start.
I had planned to take Jenna out. Jenna is in with Karma, but since I would be taking her out through the living room, I crated Babs about 4pm. Babs usually has the run of part of my house when I am not there. But recently, she has decided that the shower board that I slide across the hallway is not put there to keep her in the lower end of my house. So, I went ahead and crated her.
Then got Jenna out, and Karma -- well that's its own thread, so by the time I was done at the ER, and had stopped here to post about that, I finally got home about 1AM or so.
That's only 9 hours.
No she didn't pee. It was a big crate, wire, 48"x30. She didn't even act like she wanted to go outside. But I made her anyway. And then told her to go up in the study, which she did. I do this so the wet paws do not immediately go on my bed. But as I did not slide the useless bit of shower board over, by the time I got out of the can, there is is on my bed, sprawled.
She is rubbing her body all over it, like she missed it oh so much, all day. I shook my head and walked out of there. When I came back she is laying on her back with her legs open like a puppy -- she NEVER lays like that! What a nut.
Is she communicating her less than positive feelings about being crated for some hours???
This morning, she is sprawled on her side taking up the entire double bed. I walk into the room and her eyes move toward me and her tail thumps up and down. The rest of her body is like a rock, solidly taking ownership of MY bed.
Of course I learned my lesson. I did not crate her when I left tonight. She's so spoiled. The wrong dog would probably give me problems...
