Galathiel Sadly, I 'automatically' take bad pictures at the moment.

It's at the App Store. I use it with my iPad, I find it easier to edit on a larger screen than my phone. And yes, I think it was very easy to figure out how to use. Nothing like Photoshop, it's all very intuitive.

SpookyShepherd Photographing a dark dog is HARD!! I'm finding that I get the best shots when it is slightly overcast. Too bright and it actually washes out the black, too dark and well... it's just too dark. Oh, and definitely get comfortable close to the ground, the ranger kneel is super handy for extended periods (http://popularmilitary.com/blog/wp-c.../dawnblitz.jpg)

Here are some recent pics of my bicolor, all were cloudy days, not touched up yet.

Obviously sunny, however, it's about thirty minutes before sunset which naturally filters and softens the light https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hpho...18744478_n.jpg

Good_Karma I take photos exclusively with my phone (iPhone 4s). And while it is an amazing camera, it will not perform well in low light conditions, indoors, or to capture movement.

Editing apps can do a lot to save a mediocre photo. Snapseed is my favorite one, and it is free.

I agree with getting down low. Treats help to get your dog to look at the camera (although they can cause drooling!). I'm not sure how best to photograph a black dog. You might want to check out this website for tips. How to Avoid Problems Photographing Black Dogs - For Dummies

Your phone is going to make his head look big if you are up close. Try backing up even with it and then crop your pictures a little. Also if your point and shoot camera has any kind of zoom at all use it. I always leave my camera out where I can grab it when I see something I want a picture of.
