Puppies can be adaptable, as everyone has mentioned. It might be good to have him/her on vacation when you're going to have lots of leisure time to bond.
My question is, are your parents okay with having a not house-broken puppy for two weeks? Have you spoken with the breeder about it? She or he might be ok with you getting puppy a week later. Just a thought.

|wyoung2153||I think if you are worried about it.. as I think I would be too (not for any real harmful reason, I just worry ).. you should either try to visit earlier or as the breeder if you can pick her up when you get back and explain the situation.|

i don't think moving a puppy will effect him. moving
with the pup will help with his socializing.

|Axle||I worried about this too as we moved two weeks after bringing our pup home. He did fine and adjusted very quickly to the new door to go out of and new spot to potty. Good luck!|

|shepherdmom||To late to edit my last post but thought I would add I would be concerned about parvo too. If you are stopping at rest stops or in a hotel.|

Why not try to visit your folks before you get the puppy?
I did stop to visit a friend for a few days with a newly acquired puppy 'though. That worked out just fine. (Western Oregon to Eastern Washington to SW Wyoming.) Quite a drive. (involved at least one motel stop too)

Leyna and Levi came home at 8 weeks the beginning of November. A week or so later we moved to a temporary place before our new home was ready. We drove 9 hours to my parents for thanksgiving (each way). We did the same for Xmas and then moved to a new house again the first of the new year. It has been too long to remember any specifics, but they always travelled well and were/are quite adaptable.
Paisley flew in to town and we spent a night at my parents before heading to our house. We then took her camping a week or so later. She also seemed to handle it just fine.
