klengel Yes it is Schatzi, I just like the spelling of Schotzy more. Is it considered a unisex name or more of a female's name?

Kaimeju It is a term used by parents towards their children often. My grandmother calls me schatz (that's how you spell it).

It would be like naming a dog sweetheart or darling.

My fiancé and I are getting a male GSD puppy this weekend, and after extensively searching for the right name we've settled on Schotzy or Linus. We both like Schotzy more, but I have heard that it is more of a name for a female. I know it means "treasure" in German and that it's often used as a term of endearment. Thoughts on naming a male GSD Schotzy?
