Kayos and Havoc Welcome to you! I used to live in Northern IL too. My job keeps moving us around so we are now in Oklahoma.

Oh and btw, OP, I am not far from you. About 30 minutes south east of you.
In the summer time I am there almost every Saturday and Sunday. We like to let the dogs off leash in the huge field when no one is looking.

Yup, I am dog crazy, but so are my friends. You'll have to come with us on one of our pack walks, I bring my GSD and my Dalmatian and they bring their 2 Dobermans. We usually walk at Van Patton Woods or we go down to the beach down Shiloh blvd and let the dogs run off leash and swim.

firestorm It would be great if we could get all the WI/IL people and their dogs together for walk or hike. We could all meet some where that is agreeable to every one. That would be great.

It would be great to all meet this summer!! I know some great Public Land to hike on and it's best to go early spring when people aren't hunting or out there hiking. Let me know if anyone wants to get together.
How awesome! I often tell my husband that it's my dream to have a farm and a pack of GSDs to go with it Then he rolls his eyes at me and tells me we should work on getting a car other than a Prius & Civic to deal with the Wisco winters... touche.

If you're familiar with downtown SP (City Hall, Beans 'n Cream, Ski's saloon, etc) I live just a few blocks away from there! I would definitely be up to meeting sometime... provided my hyperactive GSD mix decides he wants to learn to behave by then. He's turning a year old in a week, and he has proven to be quite the challenge. Hopefully, by springtime, he will be better behaved.... one can hope None of you guys offer in-home training by chance? I can't just drop him off and pick him up when he's a perfect angel? Bahahaha!

@Firestorm Sun Prairie is just a bit north east of Madison. Basically almost Madison or in my case, Cottage Grove.

That would be awesome. I am up for that, if I am invited.

firestorm Selina does love to hike. We have woods and trails by use, no hunting. Late last summer my hubby, I and Selina got caught in a storm and my husband made his own trail to get us home and I fell and he left me behind and Selina came back for me and stayed by my side untill I caught up with him. He did not know I fell. She was maybe six to seven months old at the time. It was one of the bad storms this past summer 2013. We just got caught in it. Not paying attention to the weather. I was real proud of her. She took it like a trooper and did great. She always makes sure we are both around when we walk or hike and will wait for us. Thanks every one for warm welcome to this forum.
