|Harry and Lola||
I have always gone with the concept that a healthy female GSD 4mo is 50% of what their adult weight will be and a male is 50% plus 10 (in terms of pounds).
So average 4mo male is around 37pounds, double that to 74pounds & add 10 equals 84 pounds - which is a good average weight for 3yo male
Average 4mo female is around 33pounds, double that to 66pounds - is a really good average weight for 3yo female.
So you are right with doubling and adding 10 but only for males.

I heard from another GSD owner to double their weight at 5 months old. Seems about the same though.
Scout was 45lbs at 4 months old and is now 53lbs at 5 months. So he should be right around 100lbs I would guess. Eeek thats big.

|shepherdmom||I've heard this a lot. It was not accurate with Ivan but he is not GSD I don't know if that makes a difference? He was about 35 lbs at 4 months when we got him he is 60 now.|

|mego||my girl was 39 lbs at 4 months -- so that would predict 88lbs. At 13 months now she is about 62 lbs, the vet predicts she won't get more than 70, so for us it's not accurate at all. She slowed down growth majorly at about 7 months. I think between 7 months and 13 months she only gained about 6 pounds or something small like that. I was really surprised she turned out much tinier than expected, she's very fit|

|JanaeUlva||hmmm interesting. Zarek was 35 lbs at 4 months so that will put him at 80 full grown. His sire is listed as 77 lbs and dam is listed as 66 lbs. So it will be interesting to see.|

|Tide vom Nobles||At 4 months Tide was 45. He should top out around 100ls at full growth. He is 6 months right now and 70lbs.|

|vprasad||I think its pretty accurate. My boy was 55 lbs at 4 months, now he is 9 1/2 months and 100 lbs...|

|OUbrat79||My boy was 40 lbs at 4 months and is now 90+ lbs. Seems to be accurate for him.|

I've heard that rule a lot lately and wanted to see where our pup will grow up to be, very interesting that it seems to be accurate

Never heard of that one!
16 weeks was 30 lbs.
He is now around 68, so that rule, in our case, is rather accurate.
