The best way to figure out if the hard drive itself is compromised is to use it with another computer.

I'll ask my dad if he can fix it, if not, I'll bring it in to a technician.
So this what showed up when I turned it on "A Disk Read Error Occurred Press CTRL+ALT+DEL To Restart Computer".Hopefully that will provide more info

Yes, it is possible to recover data from a damaged hard drive, provided the sectors harboring the data you want are not damaged. You do need specialized equipment to do this and if the drive is truly physically damaged that data is gone (unless you had a mirrored array of drive partitions set up).
It is also extremely possible that it is not the hard drive that is damaged but a different component of your laptop. People tend to assume that it is always the hard drive that failed, but there are many things that can get knocked loose. A technician can confirm this for you. It doesn't have to be super expensive, it just depends on what the problem actually is.
If you have a laptop you can take apart yourself, I would put the hard drive in an external enclosure and see if you can access it from a different computer.

|Okin||There are very expensive places that can recover it. You can try taking the hard drive out and putting it in to a USB converter and see if you can get to it from a different computer via USB. Some people have had luck with putting the hard drive in the freezer then trying to use the USB converter.|
