Each food has a different calorie content, so the measurements aren't important. If he's a good weight then you don't need to adjust the food. If you can lightly feel but not see his ribs, he is a good weight.

My puppy is almost 6 months and I give her that much. But it also depends on size, how active your dog is and the type of food you use. My puppy is about 44#, very active and I give Eukanuba large puppy.
You can also look at the feeding recomendations which are usually on the side of the dog food packet.

I have a 7 1/2 month old male GS. I feed him twice a day 2 cups per meal (so 4 cups/day) dry food. He will also get treats and occasionally if not daily a little piece of meat here and there. Is this enough for one his age? How much do you feed your dog around that age?
