huntergreen as for how long eggs will live, as said depends on the type. at this point, in my opinion, your vet is the one who can best answer that. tape worm is an intestinal worm that can grow to a good size. i have not heard that it can be passed by face licking and again listen to your vet. in people a medicine is given which kills the worm and then passed during a BM. i would think it would be the same for your gsd.

Phantom They said it was tapeworms. I think she got them from eating rodents( if that's possible, I've never seen any fleas and she's on meds for that) There's too much imformation in the link and I don't understand some of the words. I'm just worried because someone said not to let her lick you on the face Please just tell me how long it usually takes to kill the worm, what to do with her until then. Also I was told to clean everything I can and Don't let her lick people on the face. Is this just because worms are gross or can they craw into you. Because she usually sleeps on my bed and the couches and will lick peoples' faces if she can, and I have no idea how long she's had it.

Depends on the what parasitic worm you are dealing with. The link I sent had that information in it.

Phantom I have a pretty big yard and I usually just clean it up every week. If I miss some will she get them again?

Jax08 You can get diamatecous earth at Tractor Supply or online.

I dont' know what in Windex kills them or why she recommended it. I am just relaying that she told me to use that.

I'm not sure where to find that. If its the ammonia that kills them can I just put ammonia water in a spray bottle and use that? I just need to spray the spots where I picked up feces? I read the worms can hang on her tail area, should I bathe her?
