lhczth Lauri has a lot of great information on raw feeding on her website. I would start there:

E.Hatch Look at Laurie's website (a member of this forum). It's very helpful.

Welcome to the Raw Dog Ranch

I have only been feeding raw for a couple months and haven't had any health issues either.

mspiker03 I have fed raw for 7 years or so and have never gotten sick because the dogs have licked me (or for any reason relates to feeding raw).

You can usually get a cheapish small extra freezer off Craigslist

Concerns about the Raw Diet

I am set to get a puppy in just over 5 weeks and can't wait. I'm heavily considering the Raw diet but have a few concerns.

After the dog eats and has remnants in and around his mouth, won't he be spreading potentially dangerous (to humans at least) bacteria around the house and directly to me if he licks or nudges me?

I don't have a very big freezer so I won't be able to buy in bulk too often, so I'm a bit worried about price. Don't get me wrong, I will gladly pay more for the dog to be healthy, but if there is a solid dog food I can get instead that is good for him and easier to feed than raw meat and bones, I'd rather go that route.

Any input is appreciated.
