fredh My Jake has dropped from 103 pounds down to 85-86 pounds since early October. Cut dry kibble intake from 4 to to 2 cups a day!

blackshep I'm assuming greyhound/working dog food is high calorie. Maybe change to a regular formula?

Remember the amount on the bag is a guideline, and I find they tend to tell people to feed more than less. When my dog was on kibble (she's now raw fed) they wanted me to feed her 6 cups a day. She maintained her weight on 4, if I were feeding 6 she'd have been pretty fat.

Also, up your dogs exercise. Just like people, muscle burns fat. More energy output and less energy input.

loulabelle23 Yeah I use a scale because there is no cup that comes with the food I reduce the 400 and add dog food I was told give dog olive oil for his joints and fur then I was told to feed him on grey hound food then I was told to feed him on working dog kibble etc

Are you actually weighing out 400 grams of whatever you're feeding or is it just a guess? How do you measure how much food is going in the bowl? And what are you feeding?

Cut out all the extras that he doesn't need and stick strictly to dog food. Do not give him any other options other than his dog food to eat.

Lucy Dog Feed less and exercise more. It's most likely that simple.

And cut out all those vegetables completely. Dogs don't need cabbage, carrots, etc.

What's his main food? Is he on kibble and which one? How much does he get?

wolfy dog That was one long sentence! . But okay, feed him a healthy diet for dogs. I don't know what is available in your country and what your goals are: raw, cooked or kibble. What you are describing sounds more like what you would feed a rabbit.
Besides a good diet, give him good exercise, appropriate for his age and the shape he is currently in to avoid overdoing it.
