|Wild Wolf||Their purpose is to tie the dog to a female during breeding to increase chances of a successful mating and prevent males from coming in and mating immediately after a different male (and thus creating competition) - its job is to swell whenever the animal is in a state of arousal (excitement in general to any stimuli) and is quite common... comes and goes, nothing to worry about.|

They enlarge when the dog is excited. It is normal for them to come and go.

This is an embarrassing question but... (bulbourethral gland?)
I have always noticed Navarro has a big glands on either side of his penis. In fact when I first got him as a pup I thought those were his testicles before the vet informed me they were glands (I have never had a male dog before). They seem to always be there. Well tonight they're not there! I always do a full body check once a day and tonight they've gone missing. Is that normal? Where did they go? Sorry if this is a dumb question...
