|Mary Beth||I suggest you talk it over with your vet. My Sting was neutered at 5 months at the vet's recommendation. I know there are other opinions, but I was relieved to have it done early and Sting did well - easy recovery. My Aussie was also neutered by his previous owner at 6 months. For the hd, in my opinion, that comes from parents with poor hips, not early neutering.|

We finally brought home a new German Shepherd puppy. He is 16 weeks old roughly and so far is doing great with crate training and not going to the bathroom in my house. My concern is our other two dogs, the other female house dog is spayed, she has not time for puppies so basically ignores him. My other dog is a pyrenees puppy, also male and at this point not neutered. I was going to hold of neutering him until he was around two. My reasoning is the new research out there questioning if early neutering contributes to hip displaysia. So now i'm wondering if my new shepherd pup will be ok with my pyrenees as they both get older and aren't nuetered. The pyrenees is my LGD so he's not out running around and unless we put them together they can't and are not allowed to play together. Would I be ok neutering my shepherd earlier like around a year? I'm just concerned about male aggression as they get older.
