I would not go out and buy anything either. You can do watchful waiting, and let his stomach rest, do not give food or force water. See what happens If you dog starts to vomit, then I'd go to the vet.
If nothing bad develops during the day, then you can try a small bland dinner; boiled chicken and soft cooked white rice, equal parts of each and you can add a little broth or cooking water from the chicken.

Sounds to me as if he wasn't finished with his business. I wouldn't go rushing out to buy anything, but I would go outside with him to make sure he's finished in the morning.
Do you not normally go outside in the morning with your dog?

Vet or Basic Meds??
This morning I gave August his breakfast, and he was not interested in it at all, so I realized that he needed to go out (which is odd because he is usually fine until he's had breakfast). He goes out, pees and poops (watched him from the door to make certain), then comes back to eat, but instead is more interested in playing around (at least that was what I thought). He ran around my couch and stopped behind it, which is one of the spots that he will poop at in the house when he has an accident, and he did poop. Then, he pooped again in less than a minute. Now, mind you he had just gone to the bathroom less than 5-6 minutes before. None of the stools were loose, but I decided that I would hold off on giving him breakfast, and give him water first (I actually gave him ice cubes and then after he woke up from a nap I gave him water which he won't drink). I wanted to just watch him, because he hasn't done this sort of thing since he was probably 3 or 4 months old, as far as the pooping multiple times. I am concerned, but my instincts right now do not say take him to the vet just yet. I wanted to go to the store and get him some meds, but I'm not sure what to get. I do not want to play with my animal's health, so I am asking for more experienced dog owners' opinions on this. Thank you in advance for any help.
