you have a 4 month old pup. forget about you being alpha. you
and your GF train, socialize, play with, feed, share one on one time,
do things together with the pup, etc. you and your GF should take
equal care in all aspects of the dog's life. it's "our dog" not "your dog"
or "her dog". make sure your GF stays involved.

|LoveEcho||It's pretty common, especially for puppies who are pushing boundaries and learning what's acceptable and not. Have her ramp up the obedience work with him, feed him, walk him, etc. Practice NILIF. For a while, everything good comes from her and he has to work for it.|

Atlas 4 month old male. Behavior with spouse question.
I have a question that hopefully someone can give me some advice on. My girlfriend and I got Atlas at 8 weeks. He is now roughly 4 months old and is a ball of energy and headaches all in one lol. He comes from a working line, his dad is a K-9 fugitive dog from a long line of german working dogs. He has a very high drive to work, play and please, and an even bigger drive to bite anything he can get his mouth on..toys..ankles..hands..etc. Now we have been working to correct and redirect this behavior and it is getting better. We recently started attending obedience classes and noticed a discouraging behavior from atlas. While I train him, he is fine and listens. If my girlfriend takes the lease, he is combative and tries nipping and biting and resist her the whole time. The instructor noticed and i asked her why, she says most likely because I am seen as the pack leader/alpha and correct/do not cater to him. Has anyone else seen this type of behavior and have any tips on how to correct it? I would like for atlas to respect my girlfriend as much as he does me.
