My Dixie girl did the same thing Thursday nite and I took her to the vet Fri morning. The vet gave her a shot to help the vomiting and some antibiotics for a stomach virus or the doggie flu. She bounced back nearly 100% by the next morning and by the evening she was back to being the moose again. I hate it when my girls are sick or under the weather. They cant point to where it hurts so I have a great vet that I use and she listens and does a very thorugh exam whenever there is any kind of a problem. If the dog is down in the morning make the trip to the vet immediately just in case it is something more serious than a "bug"...

|Mary Beth||Oh, I hope Jovi is better now. Yes, I have heard that dogs can get doggy flu, but I agree with you, I would take her to the vet if she doesn't perk up.|

Woke up to a sick pup
I woke up this morning, thinking it was really early because I hadn't heard Jovi. She's usually my alarm clock. When I looked at the clock, it was almost 8:45 (very unusual). So I got up and immediately went to check on her. I found her laying in pool of vomit. When she was younger (she just turned a year old), it wasn't unusual for her to throw up some bile in the morning. She would eat and be fine. Her kennel is Xlarge, so to find her just laying there like that has immediately thrown up red flags. I got her out and cleaned her up, cleaned the kennel, and tried to feed her. She didn't want it. And she's usually very hyper in the morning, she just laid down and looked at me. I had some boiled unseasoned chicken in the fridge, so I got that out and mixed it with a little rice...after a little coaxing I got her to eat all of that. That was about an hour ago, and she hasn't thrown up again, but she's just laying next to me sleeping, ears completely flat. When I move, she doesn't even lift her head (also unusual
). She's had all her shots, she was her normal, playful self all day yesterday. I'm not sure if it's just a little "bug" (Do dogs get bugs?) or what. Any ideas? I'm going to take her to the vet if she stays like this.
