|Saphire||I am sorry Jax. I woke up grumpy this morning and you were the recipient. I do apologize. It was not your post that initially upset me. I could be wrong but this OP started the thread to find a home...or so I thought. At one point there was a post that said something along the lines of "don't you think 2 days is a little quick to take to a shelter". This OP came here looking for help...they obviously love animals. It's not fair to ask them to test this dog with their cats if they are.not looking to keep.|

I think Michelle's heart is in the right place. Only by asking the right questions can any help be given to the dog and RV.
Combine if you wish, that might be a good idea.

|Gwenhwyfair||Perhaps this thread should be combined with the one in the Rescue forum?|

If he wants to find a home for him people need to be aware of his exact behavior with cats. Thus the reason I asked the questions...
**** am I sick of this board and people jumping down your throat over nothing.

Why would anyone risk their cats who are probably as important to them as your dog is to you.
If they are not keeping this dog, why would they take any risk with their cats. The OP has saved this poor dog and has foster options. Some posts here borderline on making them feel guilty.

Why are you worried about that? My cat lives with 4 dogs. And we have the outside cats that have migrated from the surrounding farms. Is there something he's done to make you think that?
Does he chase?
Does he freeze up, drop his head, and stare? I call that the death stare. That is an automatic no living with small animals indication.
Any snapping at them?

Aimee already did!
He's a beauty. What problems with the felines? He's chasing? Or they don't like him? ya know...when we aren't there...they just sleep most of the time.
As far as the lump and the bloodshot eyes, he could have had his skull cracked. That is what my horse's forehead looked like when another horse kicked him. No broken skin, just very swollen and hard. He still has a bump between his eyes.

If I let him out without a leash he seems to have no interest in running away, so he seems to be comfortable here. If it weren't for problems with the felines, and for the fact that he would be alone so much of the time, I would consider keeping him myself.
I could post a pic if I new how.

|WendyV||I know some one who would take him if you weren't so far away. If you keep him for a while you might not want to give him up. My old gsd had no problem living with cats. I would like to get my new puppy used to cats but i have no cats due to my son's allergy to them.|
