Nikki is sensitive around her neck also and she wears her "Sexy Beast" tooled leather martingale collar all day (I take it off when I leave her at home of course). The collar is 1.5 in wide and when she pulls now there is no coughing or gagging like before. The leather is strong but not heavy.
It may work for your girl too. Here is Nikki's collar: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater
Jennifer (the owner of SBDC) just announced she is getting in the tooled leather in black & gold. I just ordered two more collars for Nikki last weekend, so that's a total of four this year

If you search for "tag collars" you can find a lot of options for lightweight or soft collars to wear around the house to hold tags. Some are also breakaway if you're worried about it getting caught.

There is a lot of information in the equipment section, where I am sending this thread!
I would get a nice harness (no pull type) for walks and something perhaps like the Comfort Flex collar...

I've been looking around for the most comfortable collar as well! So far I found that hemp collars are the lightest and most comfortable...however I'm not sure how hemp will stand up to a wet/muddy dog lol. So I ended up buying a soft leather collar, very flexible.
I'm not a *very* experienced dog owner but with my past dogs I never had a choking collar...for walks where she pulled and choked I just bought a harness so the weight pulled on her body. That's probably wrong for training a dog how to walk but I can't deal with them in any form of discomfort.

I have lazy lassos, but my dogs are pulling like they used to.
Leather Leashes - Paco Collars
I don't use tags, and I won't leave collars on them.
They nearly died once when one of their jaws got twisted in the others collar.

Need collar suggestions!
I am looking for a collar for Zelda. My long coated sensitive throat GSD.
Preferably one collar to put on her.
I am looking for a comfortable collar where i can put her tags on and for wearing around the house, but also for one for walks, and when she pulls (Where it chokes her minimally, so minimal discomfort).
She has a sensitive throat, probably one of the most sensitive throats on a dog that i have known. (I've walked many dogs, since i work at an animal hospital and a shelter) So i want something gentle on her throat.
I was thinking of getting a rolled leather collar for her tags, and than another collar for training that will be easy on her throat, still unsure as to what that would be.. I heard the rolled collars choke the dog more, or at least put more pressure on the throat. Would a wide collar be less pressure on the throat than?
She pulls REALLY hard after cats, i dont want her to hurt herself. So i have been always putting a harness on her and keeping it on, and taking it off at night. I would love to have just one collar, or maybe two if needs be. Instead of what i have now: Flat collar, DAP collar, sometimes starmark prong collar, and a harness.
I've researched rolled leather collar, martingale collars and fursavor.
Still unsure if any of those fit my needs? What do you guys think?
