The main purpose of the run is for when my 3.5 year old has play dates with her friends who are still a bit fearful of dogs. Also for when I'm doing yard work and want a place for her to be while I work. She will still sleep in our room at night.
Thanks all who replied with tips, I appreciate it.

|llombardo||I have a 10 x 20 dog run. Originally I wanted them just to use it to go to the bathroom. Instead it's used to keep them calm for when family comes over or to keep visiting dogs in. I have straw in mine and they love straw. I have piles of it in my yard that they just plop down on|

you want to make sure your dog can't dig out, climb out,
claw out, bite out, etc. how can you secure your dog from
being stolen? are you planning on leaving your dog outside
for extended periods of time without supervision?

I'm having a dog run built and I was wondering if those of you that have them have can list pros/cons of having the run. I'm also wondering what materials would be best for ground cover.
