|marbury||Ideally, I want to live on 3-5 private acres with city water, power, and internet, be unincorporated (or in a county without caps on how many dogs you can have on your property) and yet be able to ride a horse to the nearest grocery to pick up the necessaries. Nearly impossible. But it's a dream... might as well dream big! :P|

Rural, definitely! Or maybe more semi-rural. We're currently renting a house with 2.5 acres in an unincorporated part of our county. Space between our neighbors with a horse farm north of us, but we're only a few minutes away from several cities. I love it.
Ideally I'd like to get 5+ acres in a similar or perhaps more rural area. I don't know if I'd want to go super rural, since I do like being close to the city, but I could probably handle it. All I know is I never want to live in an apartment ever again! No more noisy neighbors at my walls or on my ceiling.

|shepherdmom||Definitely prefer to live out in the boonies!! I really don't like people most of the time. I miss the shopping but when I start getting crazy I go visit my daughter in Vegas which is about 7 hours away. That usually gives me the shopping fix I need and then I'm glad to get back away from people again.|

I live about 3 houses down from the un-populated area of the City Limits ... so it's not really rural and it's not really city!!! I love it here ... my neighborhood allows all types of animals except for pigs ... our yards aren't huge, about 1-1/4 acres, but big enough to enjoy some open space, yet close enough to malls, shopping centers and other stores to be convenient.
I guess you can call me a Happy Camper!!!

|Daisy||I would like to live in an area on an acre or 2. Not cut off from civilization, but some property and my house not butt up against my neighbors's house. When I sit on my patio, I can see when my neighbor goes into his bathroom. I hate it. Unfortunately, DH won't move so I'm stuck in the burbs.|
