|Galathiel||When I first got my pup he used my old dog's crate. He outgrew it probably by the time he was 12 weeks old .. I dragged out my 40 inch crate and he started using it with no divider. Never has had an accident in his crate.|

|Rainer||I think it really depends on the puppy. If I remember correctly, Rainer stopped using the divider around 4-5 months. He was sleeping outside of his crate at night (in my room only) around the same time with no problems. We just made sure to take him out as often as possible when he was younger. Never made a mess in his crate except for one time when he was having diarrhea issues and no one was home to take him out.|

Crate training, when to eliminate the divider?
Abigail is 7 months. She's been doing great with the crate, no accidents outside of things not her fault.
Basically upset tummy and while in her crate (living room,) she had a loose stool accident, before being able to wake me. She was very upset by this. Otherwise she's great not going in it when we go out (we try to not leave her as much as possible,)or once she goes down for the night.
Also, as for the crate, we use it at bed time and when we can't take her with us when we go out.
