I too, am forever in awe of how incredibly smart they are. Mine open gates, and doors and get into all kinds of mischief because of their brains! lol. And so ferociously protective, yet last week, when a tiny kitten showed up on our farm injured, they have all licked and loved her like she was one of their own. Amazing amazing creatures our Dogs are......all of us who are lucky enough to share our lives with them.

|Cunningham GSDs||lol. Laughed out loud when I read these posts. I have 6, but only one who is crazy for the Kong....and no, they may be indestructible but they are not "Major Proof". He works on his BELOVED KONG till it breaks into two pieces and then he gets a new one. He like the red better than the black. When he eats, the kong goes in the food bowl. When he drinks, the kong goes in the water bowl and if it happens to be the big deep water bucket, he has to stick his whole head under the water to get it out. When he swims it goes in the pool and when he sleeps its next to his very strong well defined (from chewing kong) jaws. He is so crazy for his kong that he will push it through the wire squares in the fence if I am on the other side.....begging.....mama please throw my kong my kong my kong. Then he will sit there and watch it until I come and get it and throw it back over the fence. He is Kong crazy.|

|dogfaeries||One time Sage was dragging her leash in the house (we were getting ready to leave) when she got the leash stuck under the family room door. She went around to the other side of the door and started pawing at the leash to get it free. Who knew that silly airhead was so smart??|

Lately she's been hoarding balls. I'll look over and she's got three of them between her paws and she's holding them with her paws wrapped around them. lol
These dogs are absolutely brilliant, I'm forever in awe of their problem solving...or rather, problem creating...skills.

Been there, done that!
Carly is always stuffing her toys underneath the TV stand in the living room. It drives me out of my mind, because she kicks her toys underneath it on purpose. Then, spends 15 minutes try to dig it back out, pulling half the cords with it. Then kicks it back under there, and starts back over. If she can't reach it, she comes to me for help. I tell her STOP DOING THAT, but she just smiles and shoves it back under the TV stand.

Two everlasting funballs (those bright green ones that are absolutely indestructible) a red Kong and a Chuck it Ball... those are the toys that are out in the house and carried around, played with by the girls.
If one of them is missing, chances are they rolled under or behind the recliner and the girls know that too and they have their preferred toys.
For Indra it's either the Kong or the big funball but she takes the large funball over anything. Ma likes anything. Shoes, Chuck It ball, Foodbowl, she just needs something to carry around in her mouth. Nala likes the smaller funball.
Anyhow, both funballs and the kong behind the recliner. Indra tried to crawl through the small space, claws hitting the hardwood floor and she's pulling herself forward to reach the first ball, almost stuck in between the couch and recliner but it doesn't matter, she must reach the ball.
VICTORY, she pulls the ball out, realizes it's not what she wants and drops it to go straight back in. She gets stuck and I'm looking down. Her head laying on the floor, eyes rolling up and she looks with pleading puppy eyes at me "Toy? PLEASE?!"
So I reach down, and get the Kong. She pulls herself out and wags her tail "Yay, my Kong, give to me please? I sit pretty for you, look."
She gets the Kong, chomps down her teeth and happily wags her tail. After a minute or two she loses interest and goes back to the crawlspace probably thinking "I know it's in there, where is MY ball?!"
Instead of going into the crawlspace she goes head over the armrest and is basically halfway hanging into the crawlspace between the couch and recliner, it was such a funny look, her head down there, butt up in the air that I busted out laughing.
I then realized the ball is stuck underneath the recliner and I pulled it out for her and now I've got one happy tailwagging Indra bugging me with her Funball.
