|Alis||Well, one problem is a 4 day transition is way too quick. It should take a minimum of 2 weeks, personally longer. You mix 20% of the new food, 80% old. And gradually move up from there. If you know the dog has a sensitive stomach, start with 10% new or less. My puppy is super sensitive and requires a month to transition to new food without tummy and diarrhea issues.|

Do you have a recommendation for solid food or we might go back to the Blue if the RC doesn't work out. I'm going to get the pumpkin tomorrow and mix that b/c Nismo is still soft but solid.

I get our probiotic from Petsmart and I also mix in a digestive enzyme that Eagle makes, it's specifically for diarrhea. We've had perfect poops ever since the first meal with it!!!

|Nigel||As mentioned by Alis, how quickly did you transition? There are better options out there than RC for similar cost and yes, pumpkin may help.|

|Alis||If you don't mind me asking, how long did you allow the dogs to switch over to the new food? In terms of mixing with their old and such.|

Two Dog issues: Blue to RC GSD Breed, now loose stools
First post and looking for info on a diet and I will give some history.
We have two GS, Nismo and Oro, with Oro being adopted recently. Nismo has been diagnosed with an overly sensitive stomach and was on Purina EN for the longest time. We switched to Blue Grain Free Basics (Light blue bag) in order to save money and easier access. She worked fine on that, and then we got Oro.
Oro was on kibble during his rescue, and we had them on Blue, and he got painful diarrhea. At the Vet they recommended a switch to breed specific RC which we did and now both still have loose stinky stools.
The Vet put Oro on the probiotics packages to try to tighten the stools.
Question is this just normal with a transition or is there something bigger? I am looking at expanding their diets with supplements but I want to be proper.
Morning: 2 Scoops of RC GSD 24.
Evening: 2 Scoops of RC GSD 24.
In the mean time is there anything I can add to the RC to help firm their stools? I heard pumpkin or yams can be added. I want to hold off on the RAW diet and try to fix this first. Thanks
