My dog gets one tablespoon of coconut oil per meal for two weeks now, and his coat
became really soft and shiny.
I strongly recommend it

Saturated Fat, the type that blocks your heart, is in beef, pork, and chicken fat. This is also the case in coconuts, although not in the way that is harmful.
It is actually good for you and you dog given the lauric acid. Although it is still full of Calories so in that respect, you need to practice moderation.
Another good coconut product is coco nectar, if you can find that.
A tablespoon on an empty stomach does wonders.

Have never given it to Rusty although I am intrigued.
I dab a little under my eyes before bed & use it for a hair smoother on my ends. Helps with the fly aways

I've been buying the unprocessed coconut oil from Costco for the past 2 months and feeding a tablespoon or two to each dog (depending on size). Their energy levels have stabilized, their coat is much healthier, and the dogs love it to be drizzled on the food. Add that to the health benefits, and I'm pretty happy about incorporating it into their diet.
It almost has a slight mood stabilizing effect on Cosette.
