|JakodaCD OA||sent you a pm, but I'll throw it out here, I like that's she's trained under jean donaldson, she's also been in business for 10 years..so she's not "new"..so yes, I would try it out, see how it goes..She isn't 'that' expensive for in home training, the intitial is a little steep, but you get your foot in the door..|

so she is coming to your home? Which I think is a good thing
If your comfortable with her and she helps, I can only view this as a positive for you both..
Keep us updated! If you want, pm me her website, no expert here but I'd be glad to look at it for you and give an opinion

I have not called any of her clients. But she does have a website with testimonials and I've called her several times and e-mailed her personally. And i told her what I am not comfortable with doing for training with Zelda. She said she does not use any ecollar or chock or correction collar training.
Her website describes the way she trains and she uses reward, desensitization and counterconditioning. She sounds like a lovely person and if i dont like her, I have no problem saying that to her, to protect Zelda, but i have good vibes about her!
Yes that is so true about management. I will mention that to her, and if she is in agreement than we should be on the same page. So I will be on my guard with that.

good luck!1 however i have never heard of a trainer charging for gas..... have you seen her in action with other clients? have you called any of her other clients to verify her training? have you verified with other clients that she wont be jerking your dog around with a choke collar or using any type of punishment training(choking, ecollar, hard handed training)? be VERY careful who you have touch your dog, as the wrong handler can ruin a dog even more.
and dont forget, you cant fix genetics, only manage them....

Update on Zelda
So since I've posted quite a few threads on Zelda and her behavior and the "problems" i've been having with her. I thought it would be a good idea to update those who care or who helped me out.
I have a trainer who will be working with Zelda and I September 10, as I have been saving some money for that purpose. And will hopefully be able to do a second session, or third.
This trainer has been working with aggressive dogs for 10 years and works with fear based aggression as well as the other things I need to work on with Zelda.
She wasn't my first choice of trainer, in fact I've never heard of her until a little while ago. But I've been communicating with a her for a bit and will at least give it a go and her prices are decent. $75/hour + $30 gas and two months follow up phone and e-mail and a written up detailed assessment. And any session after that is $55/hour +$30 gas.
I told her my three big things that I need help with are her fear aggression towards people, separation anxiety and her prey drive with our cats and explained that with some of the things she has been improving. But I want a professional opinion to come here and see her behaviors and to give advice according to that.
I truly appreciate the help and advice given from many people. It's been a rough road and I don't get a lot of support here. We have been making some baby steps in the right direction and its all thanks to you guys! Also thanks for advising me to getting the help with a trainer, because I think i do need the extra help. So thanks guys!!
