|1sttimeforgsd||Everything sounds like a normal behavior to me, but it is always good to get other opinions. When they play it always looks to be too rough to me, when Storm bites Rogue on the neck does the puppy ever yelp? It probably looks rougher than what it actually is, I am more concerned over broken bones from the roughhousing that goes on with mine. Maybe we are over worrying the playing, good luck with your girls.|

Thank you for your response. I also figured this would be normal puppy behavior but everybody has me all worried about having two females Would you say it is normal in the way in which my big dog plays with my puppy? I always supervise their play but I feel as though I am constantly getting onto my older dog because I feel as though she can be a little rough sometimes. She has never hurt my puppy nor do I think she would but when they play she tends to bite on my puppy's neck and I do NOT like this. I have never seen her do this to another dog and she has been around tons of other dogs. My husband seems to think she is just teaching our puppy bite inhibition (I think thats the correct work for it lol) because our puppy does have a terrible problem of constantly biting our big dog.

In this case it is probably just your puppy playing. A puppy which clearly sees another dog as a leader will still attempt to jump on that dog and hump if allowed to. Puppies push limits and have no manners even by dog standards.
As to the second question. Be very careful about introducing your puppy to new dogs. One bad experience could turn the pup dog aggressive. As for the going on walks and being afraid of barking this is common and usually just something the dog will grow out of, especially if the puppy ever sees you defending him against dogs that are pushing him around or attempting an attack. Puppies take immediate notice of their owners defending them and they respect the **** out of it.

Advice on 12 weeks old behavior
I have two questions in regards to my 12 week old puppy Rogue.
1. I have been hearing from others about how dominant my puppy is towards my other dog. My other dog, Storm, is a 2 year old female (spayed) shepherd/chow mix that is about 75 pounds. I know she is an insecure dog and always has been. She now only seems to be insecure when it comes to people. Well, my puppy, Rogue, definitely annoys Storm. Storm is very good with her but Rogue just goes after Storm all the time which I know is normal for a puppy. Well she tries to get on top of Storm as if trying to show dominance, and I have never thought anything about it because she is a puppy and in my mind there is no way she could try being dominant over my other dog. Well, yesterday Rogue got on my other dog humping her which looked hilarious because Rogue is still so small and Storm is so BIG! So my friends were like see I told you she is trying to be dominant over Storm because of how insecure Storm is... Do y'all think that it is even possible for a puppy to be dominant? The only reason I am questioning any of this is because of all of the horror stories I have heard about having 2 female dogs in the home and I would like to prevent any issues!
2. We took my puppy to a cook out and there were a couple of other dogs there. She was great with the tiny dogs (like Pomeranians) but there was one dog there that was a 1 year old boxer mix and Rogue was terrified of this dog. The dog was super sweet though and we tried to let Rogue smell him but she was just flat out terrified and wanted to get as far away from him as possible. She also tries to run away when we go on a walks if she hears a big dog barking.. How can I help her with this fear of random dogs?
