|Galathiel||My pup doesn't play with them unsupervised but we do use regulation softballs. I like that I can get a lot of distance throwing and it's easy to find with its bright yellow cover.|

|1sttimeforgsd||I have let mine play with baseballs and softballs, and if they start chewing on them to where they start coming apart, they get tossed. As with any toy they have to be monitored for safety. The only thing that I do not let mine play with is golf balls, to easily swallowed.|

But... Baseballs are bigger than tennis balls. I think that as long as you monitor them while playing with it it'd be fine. As others said don't let them chew on it and if it's starting to come apart throw it out.

I'm a party pooper. No balls that size (remember the sad story of Emoores Cash getting a tennis ball stuck in his throat. He passed away) Also, I worry about the pieces coming off.
I do get the larger balls on a rope from k9 elite. I use them for training & fetch. But he is not aloud to sit down & chew on them.

|Nigel||I wouldn't use them, if by chance they get the cover off it is wrapped in string with a small cork ball in the center. Don't want to risk them getting the string stuck in their intestines or choking on the cork, lots of safer options available.|

|Discoetheque||I play fetch with Discoe on occasion with baseballs and softballs. As long as they're not chewing on them unattended and they're just used for fetch, I'd think it was fine. Once the lace starts to unravel, they should get tossed.|

|doggiedad||i wouldn't use a baseball for fetch because i prefer a larger ball.|

Currently, i live right across a high school baseball field, so i've found a couple in my yard and i usually just keep them away where no dog can reach.
are baseballs harmful for dogs? my dogs don't usually chew(they have kongs), so we'll just be playing fetch with the baseballs, but i want to be on the safe side.
