OMG, Halo does that too! I've had wild and crazy puppies before, but she's the first dog I've had that will jump up and spin in a circle on the bed. She starts in a down and ends in a down. It's the funniest thing and I wish I could get it on video!

NancyJ For me just sitting still and letting me pet him is major. His mother was three before she was not a demon in the house and he is probably going to be too. I still have to close the bedroom door because he will go deaf and run in there and do donuts on the it is him being able to just sit still and let me pet him and stay connected on his own.

OK, WD, 7 more months before I can compliment you. Time flies and that crazy puppy stage is behind us already, thank goodness.
Which makes me wonder why we love our (GSD) puppies so much; is it just their cuteness or more?
I know that when he is older I'll be looking for a sister for him; oh no!!!

Scarlettsmom It does happen...and then you realize that you have watched an entire program with a GSD draped across you. Sometimes that puppy appears, usually when we are trying to do something important, but most times, our adult, calm, loving GSD is content to hang out with us and behave...*most* times...

NorCalGSD Buddy is 4 months old and will do it for a little bit, then he runs off and reminds me that he's only 4months old

AnandAcharya Oh so it does actually happen right? Aston's my 8 month old GSD but I'm starting to think he's got some Tasmanian devil in him. There are days when his behavior is funny but there are other days when I wonder if I'm actually cut out for being a dog owner.

Sunflowers That began to happen here about three weeks ago.

Ken Clean-Air System I'm still waiting for that transformation to happen with Jazz, who is currently 13 months. She's part of the way there and has been for quite a while. She can be very affectionate and sweet. She'll sit still and maintain eye contact, trade kisses and bask in the affection and attention, but she still has that crazy excitable puppy side too. When she knows we are going out to play, when she hasn't seen me all day and I walk in the door or let her out of her crate she's still a crazy nut ... jumping, nose nibbling, you name the excited puppy behavior, it's still there.

She's getting better and is starting to learn a bit more control, but we're not quite there yet. Still, I have a feeling that relatively soon she'll have grown out of it ... and I also have a feeling that when she does I'm going to miss it a little bit.
