If you're just looking to spice them up...
How about doing nothing but adding more props?
I would throw a few colored lights in the background. Maybe even out of sight. It'll add some depth. Then I would add some mayhem. The dog is holding the lights in an "uh-oh" look on his face. Tear up some gift wrap paper, and throw it around their paws.
The added background, and props would put those pictures on a holiday card for sure

|Nickyb||I love the set! A little dark but your on the right track. Now only if I could get Zoey to stay that still!|

|wildo||I have a decent P&S that easily operates in manual mode- even has f2. (I see you had a very open aperture of f1.8.) And I could set it to 1/80 as you were using. The thing I didn't expect was your iso800. I would have been trying to run around iso200 or 250 which would have dramatically dropped my shutter speed. I'll play around with this... Thanks!! I like how these photos turned out! I especially like the double head tilt one.|

GatorDog- I was wondering what your shutter speed and aperture setting was for those photos. Mind telling? I think in order to get that kind of lighting effect, I'd be way into the seconds for shutter speed, which would yield blurry pics.
Nevermind- I didn't realize these were flickr photos. I can see the info I need.
