Non GSD story

I want to share the life of deeogie, we took deeogie in as a reserve rescue, she was under weight and in a lot of pain. Her first trip to the vet lead them to believe she had an unhealed wound ontop of his eye, it was retaining fluid. They did surgery, drained the cut and check for injection- seemed fine and sent her home on anti-biotics. A few short weeks later her bump returned, her energy level was low and she was timid, back to the vet we went (this was march of 2012), they ended up keeping deeogie 4 1/2 weeks... After weeks of diagnosing they could not find the issue, a specialist was finally brought in and a CT scan done, it was confirmed that our 6 month old puppy had a collapsed sinus passage caused likely from trauma or abuse. The surgery to repair was $4000.00 and never done before by our local vet office. We pondered how to approach this as there was concern for cancers and further injury, after talking about it we decided this was our family and the surgery must be done. Deeogie pulled through like a champ and is now a beautiful healthy little lady. It was a rough first 9 months for this little lady but she has become a family member. We then adapted astro as a reserve rescue as well and boy I couldn't ask for more. Attachment 23041Attachment 23044Attachment 23045Attachment 23046Attachment 23047Attachment 23049
