I took Karlo with my to my parents his first TG. He was 8 months and his nose was even with the dining table...so he did get checked now and then, so much food at every turn! He settled fine when we sat down to eat, but it was the appetizers that were tempting.
But overall he was very good, never meeting any of the people, or animals at a new place.
It was probably easier on him going elsewhere, than people coming to my home invading 'his' space. When we have guests, I crate the dogs, for everyone's comfort, but if you do want to introduce her, by all means do so! Just watch her body language and don't let her feel overwhelmed from the invasion into her home.

|FirstTimeGSD||Why not a little bit of both? Let him out when people start to arrive (so he's gradually introduced to an expanding crowd) and definitely crate him when it's time to eat. If he's crate trained it shouldn't be a problem for him to go into the crate when instructed despite a larger than normal amount of people around.|

7 months-what to expect at Thanksgiving?
Seven is now 7 months old and really, truly loves people. She seems to live for attention and petting. She does piddle a little when people come over, but it seems to be from her excitement not from any fear (always sitting or standing, never on her back or side).
We host Thanksgiving every year and this will be the first big gathering we've had since getting her. I'm torn between wanting to show off my wonderful, sweet, happy dog and crating her to keep her calm and avoid any potential issues.
What would you do?
