We have a flyball tournament this weekend. This will be Nikon's fifth tournament (he did a Pre-Flight tournament, a Singles, and has been on two teams) but this is our very first NAFA tournament. I've never even spectated a NAFA event so I have no idea what to expect. The anchor dog on Nikon's team is an older dog that is like 1300 points away from 30,000 so we really want to run clean and get her to her milestone so she can retire (she's 11 years old and has arthritis). I don't know how the points work or if that's possible but the team seems to think it is so I don't want to be the one to blow it! Nikon will be running third so she will be passing into him which is fine since they run together almost every week and even if she passes early (which her new handler has a tendency to do) Nikon will share the last jump. I'm mainly worried about Nikon's pass into the dog ahead of him and how he was so distracted in practice last week but I'll probably start him really close to the line and just feed him in. Also being NAFA the dogs are all jumping much higher than they're used to. This does not bother Nikon but some of our height dogs and older dogs were struggling the past few practices. One dog caught a jump and tore a ligament a few weeks go and is out for good.
One more practice tonight....wish us luck!

Scrappy. He clipped an 11" jump and was lame. I know he's older but he was still really good! And I think he was one of the height dogs.
Did you ever do NAFA? I'm just hoping the other U-FLI teams do it too, I was finally getting to know other people.

Good luck, Lies! You'll have a blast either way, and you're a superb trainer so I'm sure you'll do fabulously!
