Yes Willy like that! She also would dive off the boat and climb back up the ladder by herself. The trick now is keeping her OUT of the water.
I'm not sure how practical it would be for me to do this with her, just keeping my options open. And she loves the water. So I thought hey why not. There is a competition in September near me that the Chicago group is putting on. Guess I should find a friend with a pool and see how she does.

Halo had never seen a pool or a dock before but she jumped in the first time we took her dock diving. If you're new they have you try it off the exit ramp at first. She jumped in after her toy off the ramp twice, Tom took her up to the dock and she jumped off the dock twice, and I went over and had the practice fee applied to a wave of competition.
Even if you're not 100% sure your dog will jump into the pool it's still fun to try. They'll coach you, and you can just pay a practice fee without signing up to compete. In the Splash Dogs events the pool is open to practice for about an hour or so before it starts, and then again between each wave of competition. Practice is included if you sign up for even just one wave, or you can just do practice and not compete at all. |
