Oh, well, doesn't he look good contemplating it?! It has been awhile since we did this sport.

Uh, no he didn't jump! He loves to swim for tthe toy and actually pulled me in to the pool as we tried to leave. But, no, not taking that leap to certain death that day. It is lack of experience with clear pools. He will leap off the bloody boat docks and tried to pile into the Lake of the Ozarks when down by the boats.

They said it is not often that GSDs like it. My Samba is a nut for dock diving though. I have known others. We found a pool to practice at now!
Fun times at the Dog Days Bar and Grill, though!

Ruger enjoyed playing in the river last year, but not sure about this year. We have the added "bonus" of living in a desert so water sports aren't that common in our family

He'll probably jump eventually if he does like to swim. Neither of mine jumped their first try and now both have dock diving titles. They both refused the first time on the platform and both jumped right in one year later, same event no practice in between. Last year Pan was terrified of water in any form. Hated baths, hated the hose, wouldn't go near a wading pool. Then later last summer something clicked and he decided overnight that water was the most awesome thing ever and now I have to fight to keep him out of every pool, pond, and puddle.

Judge loves Dock Diving. It takes time for some to get used to it and get confident enough . I have known a few that have used life jackets to help their dogs gain confidence!

I think he will get it. Just never been on that type of dock and a couple of years since a pool. He tried to climb into the diving pool from the outside. That was a scene! He wants in that water...just has to take a leap of faith! We will see.
